
The Aloha Flea Market
No ifs ands or buts. . . go here first before you do your
shopping in Hawaii. The Aloha Flea Market has lotsa stuff to buy.
Many manufacturers and vendors who cannot afford to rent space in
Waikiki, sell their goods at the Aloha Flea Market. More
importantly, they pass their savings on to you. The merchants set
up tents in the parking stalls surrounding the Aloha Stadium.
The Aloha Flea Market is open on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and
Sundays from 7:30 am to 3:00 pm.
You should good walking shoes and bring sunscreen, a big hat and
a chair for dad. There are lots of people, so keep an eye on the
kids. The stadium's parking lot has poll location signs. Most
couples split up and meet at a prearranged location.
Warning: This is a shop until you drop area. Most
people can't go around the stadium more than once. . . and there
are four or five circles of shops. This is the place grandma buys
those funny t-shirts for the grand kids back home. Go early before
it gets hot.
The least expensive way to get there is to take THE BUS. The
ride will take about 30 minutes from Waikiki. The fare is $2.00
Another way to get there is on the Aloha Flea Market Shuttle.
The fare is $6.00 round trip and the price includes admission to
the market. They make pickups at most of the major hotels in
Waikiki. You might have to walk a few blocks to their pickup stops,
but its worth it. Most people feel this is the best way to get to
the Aloha Flea Market.
